The Importance of Women's Reproductive Health for Teens

The problems on women's health starts from the high age of first marriage under the age of 20 years. In fact, as we all know pregnancy young age have a high risk. So, what's the solution.

Chairman of Dharma Wanita Persatuan Pusat, Prof.. Nila F. Moeloek, MD, Ph.D., said that it is possible because of a lack of understanding, knowledge and positive attitudes and behavior, and reproductive rights. Though it affects the reproductive health status and prepare the family life.

"Reproductive health is important, a woman's right to say that I should keep. If we talk about reproductive health, we are talking about teenagers, "said Prof. Nila F. Moeloek in a seminar entitled "Family is the First and Main Pillar In Nation Building" in the Auditorium BKKBN Gedung Halim 1, Jakarta Timur, Selasa (26/11/2013).

Meanwhile, according to a survey of Australian National University (ANU) and the University of Indonesia in 2010 in JATABEK, 22% of girls under age 20 become pregnant before marriage. That is, only 74.33% of women who become pregnant within the bonds of marriage are legitimate, and 2.97% did not provide information.

Thus, according to Prof. Nila F. Moeloek when talking about teenagers, it means they need to know about sex. This is because it relates to their own reproductive health.
